Everton Warned Off Teenager, Matthew Kennedy

Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels has accused Everton of 'pickling' young winger Matthew Kennedy's mind by attempting to sign him.

Everton manager David Moyes has been linked with a £250,000 move for the 17-year-old, who made his Scottish Premier League debut last November.

Shiels has admitted that Kilmarnock are in talks over a possible deal, but believes that Kennedy would be better staying at Rugby Park for now.

He told the Daily Record: "The boy's head has been pickled with talk of Everton. There are negotiations taking place at the top end of each club.

"I have spoken to Matty's father and told him what I think is the best thing for his son's career. A young lad's career is the most important thing here, not finances."
