Governor Rochas Okorocha's Foundation To Set Up Free University


photoAs part of activities to Mark the 10th anniversary of Rochas Foundation, plans have been concluded by it to set up the first free University in the country.
This was disclosed by the Director General of the foundation, Miss. Uloma Rochas Okorocha, at a press conference held at the foundation’s headquarters in Abuja.
Miss Okorocha who is the daughter of the Governor of Imo State stated that the University would be cited in Imo state.
Rochas Foundation currently has five free secondary schools in Owerri, Jos, Ibadan, Ogboko and Kano with a student population of five thousand.
She said that upon completion, the university would be free- education driven, target indegent students of the society just as all the secondary schools of the foundation.
She also disclosed that the foundation will, as part of the 10th anniversary ceremony, be holding a combined graduation ceremony at Owerri, Imo State for five of its free collages during the four day event, scheduled to begin on Friday October 5 and end on Monday, October 8.
Miss Okorocha equally noted that part of the anniversary would be the restructuring and re organising of the schools for the purpose of achieving the cardinal objectives of setting them up by the  president of the foundation, Governor Rochas Okorocha.
To this end, she disclosed that the foundation management recently embarked upon a tour of the schools, aimed at re-assessing and re- appraising the staff and students.
