“I Dumped Kim Kardashian Because She Lied About The Sex Tape” – Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon has revealed that he dumped Kim Kardashian after she ‘lied’ to him about the existence of her now-infamous sex tape.

photoDespite calling the reality star ‘one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet’ Nick explained that he couldn’t forgive her for denying the tape existed.
Radio presenter Nick, now happily married to Mariah Carey, briefly dated Kim from September 2006 to January 2007.
Speaking on The Howard Stern Show last week he explained: ‘This was my issue. We talked about this tape…And she told me there was no tape.
‘If she might have been honest with me I might have tried to hold her down and be like “That was before me” because she is a great girl.
‘She’s actually one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. But the fact that she lied and told me that there was no tape?’
Kim made the tape while with then-boyfriend Ray J in 2003. It’s release brought her to a wide audience and directly led to her now-lucrative reality star career.
Nick revealed that he had always suspected that Kim might have had something to do with the tape’s release.
‘And I still think she might have even had a part to play with [its release],’ he said.
It seems unlikely Kim will be too concerned about losing out with Nick, however.
Since their breakup she has gone on to become one of America’s biggest stars, despite her lack of talent.
Nick seems to appreciate this, adding: ‘I think she’s a great businesswoman if you ask me.’
Kim is now happily dating rapper Kanye West.
He certainly doesn’t seem put off by her tape – in fact The Stronger rapper appears to make reference to the reality star’s infamous 2007 tape in his track Clique.
The song – which will feature on his album Cruel Summer – includes the line: ‘Eat breakfast at Gucci. My girl a superstar all from a home movie.’
Her other ex-boyfriends include Gabriel Aubry and Nick Lachey. She is currently locked in a messy divorce with second husband Kris Humphries, after a brief and disastrous marriage.
Kim’s rise to fame saw her introduced her to Hollywood’s socialite scene by her then close friend Paris Hilton.
Paris soon came to regret the move, as she was overshadowed by Kim when her sex tape was leaked, with pornography company Vivid buying the rights to the video for $1m.
It was particularly galling for Paris, as a similar film featuring her had been leaked in 2003, briefly making her one of the world’s most notorious celebrities.
While Kim has always claimed she was ‘devastated’ by the release of the tape, it certainly made her a star.
It has even been alleged her mother Kris Jenner brokered the deal, with Kim receiving a hefty advance worth between $250,000 and $500,000.
Kim filmed the sex tape when she was 23, and Keeping Up With The Kardashians premiered eight months after its release.
Back in June reports emerged that Kris had allegedly instructed Kim to make the video and even had her re-shoot it because the first take wasn’t ‘pretty enough’.
Kim’s younger sister Khloe was infuriated by the claims and said: ‘That is just disgusting and disturbing, and probably HIS fantasy!’

Petroleum Minister Allison-Madueke In Hospital For Cancer Treatment

Nigeria’s controversial Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke, has returned to a London hospital to continue treatment for an undisclosed ailment that is believed to be cancer.

photo
Sources said today that Mrs. Allison-Madueke made the journey last week, and began a daily therapy.  She is yet to return to Abuja.

Her one-week absence from Abuja has emboldened those Nigerians who have been calling for her removal to further pressure President Goodluck Jonathan to sack her as Minister of Petroleum Resources.  She is frequently cited on allegations of corruption and mismanagement, but is also known to be a close friend of the President’s.

Recently, the French government impounded a private jet that was carrying Jide Omokore, a business associate of the Minister, on suspicions that the jet-a Bombardier Global Express XRS- belongs to her.
Investigations show that the jet was purchased by the Bank of Utah Trustee in June 2012 through the same process that was recently used in purchasing private jets for the governors of Rivers and Akwa Ibom States.

Why My Mother Was Kidnapped – Okonjo-Iweala (UPDATED)

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on Monday accused indicted petroleum products marketers of masterminding the recent kidnap of her mother, Kamene Okonjo.

She however refused to name any of the indicted marketers suspected to have sponsored the dastardly act, saying: “I can’t give all the details, because we don’t want to compromise on-going investigations.”

The octogenarian wife of the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, Chukuka Okonjo, was abducted from her home in Delta State and forcefully taken captive on Sunday, December 9, by gunmen.
Though the retired Professor of Sociology regained her freedom last Friday, five days after she was seized by her abductors, her daughter, who spoke on the circumstances of her old mother’s ordeal, said she was exposed to both mental and psychological torture throughout the period.
“Apart from the emotional trauma of being violently taken away from her family and kept incommunicado for five days in a strange environment, a woman of 83 years was left without food for five days,” the minister told reporters.
“While she was in their custody, the kidnappers spent much of the time harassing her. They told her that I must get on the radio and television and announce my resignation. When she asked why, they told her it was because I did not pay “Oil subsidy money”.
“They also said I had blocked payment of money to certain components of the SURE-P programme,” Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala added.
The Minister, who recounted the trauma her mother went through in the hands of her captors, told reporters that all the accusations against her were false and unfounded.
“I just want to clarify that in the case of payment for oil subsidy money, we have been paying marketers who have been verified by Aig Imoukhuede Committee that their transactions are clean,” she said. “We have done that and will continue to do that. For marketers whose transactions are proven to be fraudulent, the position of the Jonathan government is also clear: we cannot and we will not pay. We will not back down on this. We will continue to stand firm. I think this is what Nigerians want.”
The minister added that “Nigerians want that only honest people who have been doing transactions are paid and we have been doing that. Those transactions that have not been verified, or where it is showing that the marketers are owing government money, the government position is that we would not be able to pay.”
On the SURE-P programme, the minister said it follows a totally different process that is beyond the control of her office, adding that “with the special committee set up, they do not come via the normal Ministry of Finance. It goes through other processes over which I do not have control,”
Elaborating on her mother’s five-day ordeal in the hands of the kidnappers, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala described her as “a very courageous woman that God was with”.
“Let me tell you that she suffered a great deal. So when I say that God has performed a miracle, you can understand what I mean. She was taken away and kept for five days without food or water and for an 83-year old woman it’s a miracle.
“She came back to us and she is alive and doing well. My father, the Obi of Ogwashi Uku, Professor Okonjo and my mother want to use this medium to express their sincere thanks to Nigerians and gratitude to Almighty God that she came out of this ordeal.
“While she was there, she kept asking what the kidnap was all about, and they told her that her daughter did not pay oil subsidy money and was also blocking payment of certain parts of the SURE-Programme. Those were the two things that were said,” the minister stated.
Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala, who appeared grief-stricken all through her briefing, used the occasion to condole with Nigerians on the death of the Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa; and the former National Security Adviser, Andrew Azazi, describing their deaths as a great loss to the country.
She thanked God for the miracle of returning her mother, saying it was the prayer of many Nigerians that came through for them
Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala did, however, not comment on whether ransom was paid for her mother’s release or not.

General Andrew Owoeye Azazi (1952 – 2012)

General Andrew Owoeye Azazi (retired) was the National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan until June 22, 2012. He was also former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) during former President, Chief Olusegun ‘s tenure. General Azazi also served as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) between 2006 and 2007. He replaced General Martin Luther Agwai. Before his appointment as COAS, he was General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Kaduna.

On August 20, 2008, Umaru Yar’Adua replaced Azazi with Paul Dike as CDS and announced Azazi’s retirement from military service.

On October 4, 2010, he was appointed National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan. In June 2012, President Goodluck Jonathan sacked him. Counterterrorism issues Azazi emerged from retirement to assume the National Security Adviser (NSA) post as a civilian. He inherited a range of challenges from extremists, including the militant Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) in his native region, and the rise of a new violent Islamist group called Boko Haram, which first emerged in 2009.
Shortly after taking office, Azazi presided over the interception and public exposure of a large illegal shipment of weapons from the Islamic Republic of Iran. He did not speculate publicly on the origin of the weapons, and left it up to the Foreign Ministry to make the official allegation before the United Nations. News accounts differ as to the destination of the arms, with Israeli reports saying they were headed for Gaza, and others, including Nigerian government sources, saying they were to be smuggled elsewhere in West Africa, including to rebels based in Senegal and The Gambia.
Nigerian officials arrested an Iranian national reported to be a senior officer with the Qods Force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and placed him on trial. The Iranian government called the shipments a “misunderstanding”. As National Security Adviser, Azazi worked with other countries, notably African neighbours, European countries and the United States, toward developing a new security and counterterrorism strategy.
In the autumn of 2010, he met with then CIA Director, Leon Panetta, at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. In August 2011, Azazi held meetings with US AFRICOM Commander, Gen. Carter F. Ham, about American training and sharing intelligence to combat Boko Haram and Niger Delta extremists. He attended a CIA event in California in November. On Christmas Day, 2011, the White House confirmed that U.S. officials had been in communication with top Nigerian officials to combat terrorism.
Azazi took a systematic approach to the reform of Nigeria’s security and intelligence apparatus, with a low-key demeanor that some critics have termed indifference. He was quoted as saying that real reform comes with human development of national security personnel and officials and greater citizen participation, and not with mere documents, statements, and bureaucratic or leadership rearrangements. Personal life He was married with five children, three sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, a grand daughter and two grandsons.
His hobbies included reading biographies, Nigerian music and playing squash.

Yakowa’s Wife May Become Deputy Governor

Strong indications emerged yesterday suggesting that the wife of the late governor of Kaduna State, Mrs Amina Elizabeth Yakowa, could emerge the deputy governor of the state following the death of her husband in a helicopter crash on Saturday.

photo
The plan to tap Amina as the deputy to the newly sworn-in governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, is being championed by northern governors across party divide, top northern politicians and governors from other regions of the country with the aim of sustaining Yekowa’s legacies.
The promoters of the move to install Yakowa’s wife could meet with Vice President Namadi Sambo in about a week’s time.
Members of the group, who refused to be named, told LEADERSHIP last night that they were convinced that Mrs Yakowa was the best candidate for the position.
She was a former deputy director at the Ministry of Defence and only retired after her husband became governor.
The promoters said they were also inspired by the example of the wife of the former Senate President, Mrs Margery Okadigbo, who emerged to take over her husband, Chuba’s slot in the Senate.
They also alluded to the recent example of a former Senator from Plateau State, Sen. Gyang Dantong, who was similarly succeeded by his wife, after he was killed by gunmen at a funeral in the state.
Mrs Yakowa was born on May 20, 1953 in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government of Kaduna State.
An educationist, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She taught in many schools in Kaduna State before transferring her service to the Ministry of Defence, Abuja. According to the Kaduna State website, she is now on leave of absence.
A humane, humble and motherly person, Mrs Yakowa is known to be very compassionate, warm and accommodating. She is a patron to many associations, and sits on the board of many non-governmental organisations.
Within the short period of assumption of office as wife of the governor, Mrs Yakowa, in collaboration with the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) conditional cash transfer project, was able to assist poor families to improve their economic status through presentation of cash to start small businesses. She has also been actively involved in the state immunisation programme as well as the fight against malaria.
Only recently, Mrs Yakowa successfully hosted the First Lady, Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan, to launch the Kaduna State chapter of Women for Change Initiative (W4CI), making the state the third to launch the programme.
Blessed with four children, Mama, as she is fondly called, said the death of her husband came as an unforgettable shock.
“He was my pillar; he was everything I have ever had. He was a symbol of unity. I am consoled by the fact that he left a good legacy for us. I thank God for the number of years we lived together.
He left when we were all looking forward to celebrate our 34 years of marriage.  We will miss his kind gestures, humility and simplicity,” she sobbed.
