A 32-year-old man told a Lagos customary court sitting in Ikeja that his wife grabbed his genital and threatened to cut it with a knife.
Kolawole Richard claimed that Janet Uduka would have carried out her threat but for the intervention of neigbours who heard his distress call.
Kolawole alleged that Janet was troublesome and never took her marital responsibilities seriously, adding that their union is blessed with a child.
He said that what gave him concern most was that his wife always starved him of sex, a situation that usually led to quarrels.
While giving evidence in the open court, Kolawole brought a photogragh showing a deep cut on his genital to buttress his claim, and this almost caused commotion, because those in attendance wanted to have a glimpse.
He urged the court to dissolve the marriage and grant him custody of the only child of the union.
In her defence, the wife told the court that Kolawole was fond of sex such that he always picked quarrel whenever she denied him.
She said that she had begged him for forgiveness, but he insisted that the marriage must be dissolved.
The president, Mr. S. K Hussaian, dissolved the marriage and ordered the husband to compensate Janet with 26,000 Naira, and custody of the child was granted to the wife.
