“True Love Doesn’t Care If You’re In A Relationship! He’s Fair Game Until I See A Ring”

You know how they say they’re more women than men in the world… Some people have used this statistical imbalance as a valid justification for polygamy and keeping your options open.
Whether this is right or wrong is open to a whole lot of discussion and analysis. The dynamics of how these things work are however, very interesting. Last week, my friend told me of how her mother had sent a message to another mother saying “Sister, has Akin introduced any girl to you? Our Dolapo is single and even though they call us old fashioned, this is how things were done back in the day.”  She said she asked her Mum what the plan was if Akin actually had a girl… her mother’s reply was “Then, he will decide which of you he wants”
The fact that he probably was dating someone wasn’t important to the woman. I remember thinking… two mothers somewhere are scheming the ousting of one poor girl from the safety net of her relationship.
I saw the picture of one hot chocolatey looking delight of a man on my friend’s Blackberry display picture… I asked if the guy was single and that’s how the matter became long… What do I mean by single? Ehn now… is he married? or dating anybody? My friend says, he’s not married sha but I don’t know if he’s seeing anybody *insert pause* then he adds…SERIOUSLY!  So I ask my friend to ask the guy if he’s seeing anybody, seriously or otherwise and the silly guy asked to see my picture!
I mean, how hard is it for you to tell if you have a significant other? It’s either a yes or a no, whether I’m beauty or the beast, shouldn’t matter, unless of course, he’s up to some mischief… Or so I thought, until my cousin said “No oh! It’s not simple like that oh! He’s fair game until I see a ring.” I’ve heard guys also say that the fact that a babe is dating someone doesn’t mean they can’t “enter set” and toast then, date the babe. Besides, you can’t let the presence of one pesky boyfriend who doesn’t have game mess up your runs.
Babes who go all in and fight for what they want are hailed as Spartans! Besides, there are more women than men and since we’re in this really tight feeding trough, we all have to work for what we can get. For all you know, your ”perfect” man might just be in the arms of the “wrong” woman.
What do you guys think? Is everyone fair game until they’re married? How much commitment does a guy need to make to his girlfriend before other girls would know to stay at bay?
Do you guys agree with this tweet I saw this morning?

Top Seven Worst Reasons To Get Married

When two people are deeply in love, marriage seems like the next step. But let's not kid ourselves, people marry for reasons other than love every day.
If you're ready to march down the aisle and find yourself wondering what's love got to do with it, return the bridal shower gifts and reconsider. If there's even the slightest reason of doubt in your head, that's probably tell-tale sign for you there.
Here are 9 reasons you should probably call off the wedding right now!
1. To Please Your Parents:
Yes, your parents would feel better knowing you had someone to help take care of you. But enough about you, they really want grandchildren.
2. You're Pregnant:
Finding out you're pregnant is scary. Finding out you're pregnant while single is even scarier. Rushing into a marriage before you're ready almost never had a happy ending. Adjust to your new role as mommy before taking on the added responsibility of marriage.
3. You've Been Together For So Long:
You're dating a guy and it's going OK. He loves you and everything so that's good. Should you settle and marry the guy? All signs point to no if you're heart isn't in it.
4. To Get Out of Debt:
You're drowning in debt and see no way out. Before you marry a man with stacks of fat cash, understand that you can't put a price on personal happiness.
5. Everybody's Doing It:
So everyone you ever met is now married and you're left "singled" out. Resist the peer pressure and go your own way. Love will find you when the timing is right.
6. To Have a Dream Wedding:
The appeal of grand wedding is undeniable but what's it worth without a lifetime of love ahead? Just ask Kim Kardashian.
7. To Have a Baby:
Yes, conventional wisdom tells us, "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage," but maybe you're not a conventional kinda gal!

Lawyers Sue Jonathan Over $44bn Debt

Five Abuja based lawyers have dragged President Goodluck Jonathan before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja over Nigeria’s increasing debt profile of $44 billion.
They also slammed his failure to set limit to the amount of consolidated debt of the federal, state and local governments since he was sworn-in into office.
The plaintiffs, Aja Nwani Aja, Lawrence Ogbonna Ukpai, Kingsley Osaigbovo Obue, Adaobi Chioma Peace, Best Owie and Abdulmumuni Mohammed Tahir, listed the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a defendant.
Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who spoke at a briefing on the 2012 budget in Abuja on April 11, 2012 put the nation’s total debt stock at $44 billion; giving the breakdown as $5.9 billion external and N5.6 trillion domestic.
She stated that although the nation’s external debt profile was not bad as to cause panic, the rising domestic debt portfolio was getting uncomfortable.
But the lawyers in their suit averred that by virtue of section 42 (1) of the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007 and pursuant to the provisions of item 7 and 50 of part 1 of the 2nd Schedule to the constitution, President Jonathan is mandated to, within 90 days from May 29, 2011,  set overall limits for the amounts of consolidated debts for the three tier governments.
They maintained that the House of Representatives on March 27, 2012 had passed a motion urging Jonathan to implement section 42 (1) of the Fiscal Responsibility Act.
Consequently, the plaintiffs asked the court to declare that Jonathan was in breach of the oath of office to discharge his duties as President in accordance with the 1999 constitution and the laws of Nigeria.
The lawyers also asked the court to hold that Jonathan is duty bound to comply with the provision of the said laws of the country and therefore be compelled by the court to comply with laws of the land in the discharge of his duties.

Texting And Walking: An Unhealthy Habit

photo
All over the world, people have come to rely on their smart phones and other handheld devices, made easy by the advancement in technology.
Communication seems to have been made easier with this very accessible devices, thus in a bid to multitask, people have inculcated a dangerous trend in texting and walking.
Drafting a quick message or the quick reply of Blackberry message may seem spontaneous and sometimes irresistible but when people walk in public with their face down, they tend not to see the scenery in front of them and this more often than not could lead to a head on collision or a more drastic incident of being knocked down by an oncoming vehicle or bike.
Texting and walking is as dangerous as calling and driving or texting and driving as a lot of people can’t focus on two things at the same time, thus performance often suffers as attention shifts rapidly back and forth between tasks
Thus in a similar fashion to drivers who use cell phones behind the wheels, pedestrians who walk with smart phones often think they are in control and it’s all the other people just walking who aren’t watching what they are doing.
Tips
For Pedestrians: If you must text, stand off the sidewalks and pedestals. Better still, simply make a call.
For Drivers: Fine you already obey the ‘don’t drink and drive’ rule. How about adding this? ‘don’t text or call while driving’. If you must make that call, use ear-piece or connect your phone to your car speakers using bluetooth (not all cars have this function, though).
And, to round it up- If you are riding on a bike (Okada), whether as a passenger or rider, Please do not try to text or make/take a call. You can park for a minute and do this, before continuing on your journey.
